There are many factors that affect how long your vegetables will stay fresh and at peek flavor. By the time they have reached you, they have been field rinsed (deep sinked) in cool, clean water to
remove loose dirt and quickly cooled. Most fresh vegetables need to be stored in a cold
refrigerator (34 to 40 degrees) in food quality plastic bags. Some vegetables should be stored
at room temperature—tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and basil. Vegetables are best stored
unwashed and dry; always wash before using. Never wash berries before storing; wash
just before use.
